Sacred Om to Host Yoga Master from India on Aug. 8; expands classes and workshops

On August 8, a Point Pleasant Beach yoga center on Arnold Avenue will welcome a yoga master from India.

Sacred Om Yoga Center is proud to welcome an internationally respected yoga master, from Ahmedabad, India, to downtown Point Pleasant Beach. Swami Adhyatmanandaji will visit Sacred Om Yoga Center on Wednesday, August 8. He will lead students in yoga, meditation, and pranayama from 9-10:30 a.m.

Swami Adhyatmanandaji is the Spiritual Head of the Sivananda Ashram. He hails from the lineage of His Holiness Sri Swami Sivanandaji Majarj and has conducted more than 700 yoga classes in India and abroad.

Susan Tartaglino of Point Pleasant, owner of Sacred Om Yoga Center, says she’s honored to bring a yoga master of world renown to Point Pleasant Beach.

“To have Swami share his teachings on yoga, meditation, and pranayama truly is a gift,” Tartaglino enthuses. “The point of yoga is to quiet our minds. Asanas, or poses, calm the body so that we can sit in meditation. Learning to coordinate breath with movement helps us to gain inner and outer strength. I am truly grateful that we have this wonderful opportunity to learn from a great yogacharya.”

Students of all levels are invited to the Swami’s class. Space is limited, however, so students must pre-register at www.sacredomyoga.com or by calling Sacred Om at 732-899-9642. A $25 donation is suggested.

In addition, one of the new classes at Sacred Om Yoga Center is “Strength and Renew,” a vigorous flow with restorative adjustments that takes place on Mondays from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.  Tartaglino points out that Sacred Om provides an intergenerational experience so students of all ages can practice yoga at their own pace.

For example, the “Moderate and Mindful” class (Thursdays at 10 a.m.) is structured for older adults to strengthen the bones and spine, prevent osteoporosis and arthritis, and maintain the circulatory system. “Yoga for Kids” classes, taking place at Sacred Om every Monday, help to promote strength, flexibility, coordination, and awareness in bodies that are still developing.

According to Tartaglino, September at Sacred Om Yoga Center will bring a weekly meditation class, second prenatal class, and postnatal workshop series designed to balance and restore the physical needs of new mothers and their babies.

Tartaglino explains that, in addition to stretching, meditation, and stress reduction, yoga offers many therapeutic benefits for losing weight and addressing one’s relationship with food. “Tone It Up!” – a six-week series coming in September – will focus on these aspects of yoga.

Located at 726A Arnold Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach, Sacred Om Yoga Center offers an August promotion of 12 classes for $120. Sacred Om partners with experienced yoga instructors who incorporate a variety of styles and encourage students of all levels. Spiritual workshops and special events, such as Swami Adhyatmanandaji’s visit, also have a home at Sacred Om, in order to broaden the yoga experience.

The mission of Sacred Om Yoga Center is to provide a supportive, restorative, and nourishing haven where individuals can achieve inner peace and maintain physical, emotional, and spiritual health. To learn more about the Sacred Om community, please visit www.sacredomyoga.com or call 732-899-YOGA.
