This new initiative, led by the American Littoral Society, will convene Barnegat Bay watershed businesses to gain a better understanding of the impact that a cleaner, healthier bay will have on the success of their businesses and how they can work together for a healthier bay and a stronger economy.

Many businesses are realizing the connection between the bay's health and their livelihood. This is an opportunity to hear how your business can thrive along with a healthier bay and learn about what others in Ocean County are doing to succeed.

Specifically, business owners and representatives will hear an informative talk by Tim Dillingham, Executive Director of the American Littoral Society; learn what other businesses are already doing to improve conditions in the bay and exchange ideas about how they can become a recognized Business for a Better Barnegat Bay.

Many businesses and communities are already participating in the program including: Community Medical Center (part of the Saint Barnabas Healthcare System), Hammett’s Landscaping and Garden Center, Bea Ley Golf Course, Parsons Seafood/Mariculture, Down to Earth Landscaping, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Paul Mitchell the School-Jersey Shore, Laurel Commons Condominium Association, Maris Stella Retreat and Conference Center and the Borough of Pine Beach to name a few.

Owners and representatives of all business types are invited: governmental, for profit, nonprofit, large, or small. The only requirement is that they be located in the Barnegat Bay watershed, which includes all of Ocean County plus parts of Monmouth County towns also located in the watershed including Howell, Wall, Freehold, and Millstone Township.

This free event will be held at Community Medical Center, Auditorium A (first floor) at 99 Highway 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08735. A
continental breakfast will be served. To attend, please contact Helen Henderson at 732-575-5701 or Helen@LittoralSociety.org.
