Santa and the Mrs. to Return to Bennett Cabin Sunday

Great turnout Sat. at Bennett Cabin in Riverfront Park

Santa and Mrs. Claus will bring their twinkling eyes and merry dimples back to the Bennett Cabin from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

If Sunday is anything like Saturday, there will be a whole lot of sugar plums dancing in a whole lot of kids' heads, what with Santa's lap welcoming kids to dream aloud about Christmas morning wishes.

Richard Morris and Ed Lavan, the volunteers who led the herculean effort of rebuilding the cabin at the park, Sharon Morris, Richard's wife, and Eileen McCabe, the executive director of the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce, were keeping the Yuletide happenings humming, as they have since they started the Christmas cabin tradition in 2011.

This year's theme is "The Polar Express," so Morris sported a train engineer's hat.

The chamber donated hot chocolate and cookies given out for free to eager wee ones waiting to see the Kringle at the cabin at Riverfront Park, Maxson Avenue and River Road, Point Borough.

Another donor contributed stacks of holiday coloring books and crayons for kids to bring home.
