The Ferris Wheel At Seaside Park's Funtown Pier

Images of the Ferris Wheel at Funtown Pier, Seaside Park

The Ferris Wheel at Seaside Park's Funtown Pier never completely surrendered to Sandy, despite being dropped onto the beach on one end during the collapse of the pier and then hanging on the pier posts at the other end of its base.

Defying a tilt, it never fell, until overcome by cranes and cables on April 18.

The ride was a muse for many photographers, including myself, before and after Sandy, and will be missed by many.

Editor's Note: Many thanks to Jo Hendley for sharing his images and thoughts here. To see more of his vision of the aftermath of Sandy, visit his website, Facebook page and tumblr.
