The emphasis when describing these artists must be on dynamic; they are not limited to furniture. Artisans is able to produce or restore anything from military hardware, to sculptures, to toys, and other collectables.

In October of 2012 the region was impacted by major disaster; our hearts go out to all of those who lost so much during Superstorm Sandy. Everyone plays their role contributing towards the resolve required to rebuild after such an event. Artisans, a modernized rendition of 18th century craftsman, provides a unique service.

Always finding a way to involve themselves in the community, Artisans craftsmen serve on the board of several local museums, and in addition provide consulting and conservation/preservation services. They are actively engaged in charity efforts and the promotion of the arts; their next appearance is scheduled this June at Art All Night.

Lumber conservation; what exactly does this have to do with artists and storms? Well; countless trees were lost or must be taken down as result of Sandy. Local harvest lumber, when you think about our environment, is as green as it gets, especially when you mill trees taken down by natural causes. Artisans is partnered with local tree services and a lumber mill to turn your fallen trees into new family treasures. They can design original custom furniture or unique accessories such as bowls, boxes, pens, or other small keepsakes.

When you speak with these artists you unveil bold personalities and expose a maze of fascinating stories each one with a new twist or turn, darting down rabbit holes, and cruising highways. Their client list extends worldwide; they deal directly with unique individuals, flamboyant designers, discrete agents representing the upper crust, and occasionally producers. If you keep your eyes peeled, you’ll periodically spot them in a television cameo, on the cover page of your local newspaper, or in your favorite magazine.

“Artisans Quarterly Review” provides insight into the story behind the art and the artists. This special issue focuses on Super Storm Sandy and the ‘Restore the Shore” efforts.
