Community Day And 5K Race Slated For June 28th At Bayshore Community Hospital

Bayshore Community Hospital will host its annual Community Day and 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 28th, from 8:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. This event will be held at Bayshore Community Hospital, located at 727 North Beers Street in Holmdel.

The day kicks-off with a timed 5K Run/Walk starting at Bayshore and continuing through scenic Holmdel. This is the second race in the 2014 Meridian Heart and Sole Cup with $3,000 in prize money awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three male and female finishers by age group.

Registration and check-in for the 5K Run/Walk begins at 7:00 A.M. at the main entrance to the hospital and the cost is $25. To register online or to print a registration form, visit www.BayshoreHospital.org/5krace. The first 200 registrants will receive a free t-shirt. Additionally, there will be free kids’ races for children between the ages of three and 12 starting at 10:00 A.M. Registration for the kids’ races can be obtained on the day of the event or online, and all children who participate will receive medals.

Following the races join Bayshore for Community Day, featuring festivities for families and community members of all ages. Enjoy a bounce house, face painting, and rock out to Miss Melissa’s Aardvarks, performing immediately after the awards ceremony (11:00 a.m.)! Members of Meridian Pediatric Network’s Pawsitive Action Team will also be making special appearances throughout the day. Health information and free screenings will be available including blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, BMI, and stroke risk assessments.
