Robert Kaufman, Navy Veteran, Point Boro Class Of '85 Grad

Bob Kaufman, 47, of South Daytona, FL, graduate of Point Boro High School in 1985, passed away, Thursday, November 14, 2013.

Born in Hoboken, Bob grew up in Point Pleasant Boro, where he lived until moving to Florida eleven years ago.

He served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Japan for three and a half years.

Bob worked as a driver for United Parcel Service and later Coca Cola and was a former member of the B.P.O. Elks, Point Pleasant Lodge No. 1698.

He was predeceased by his brothers, James Charles Kaufman and William E. Kaufman.

Surviving are his son, Justin Robert Kaufman of FL; his parents, John and Anna Kaufman of Point Pleasant and his brother, John F. Kaufman and his wife Kathy of North Arlington. Also surviving are his niece, Jessica D. Kaufman; nephews, Christian J. Kaufman and his wife Taryn, John F. Kaufman and his wife Krysty, Luke J. Kaufman and his wife Emily, Keith R. Kaufman, Joshua J. Kaufman; and grand nieces and nephews, Shayla, Shane, Grace, and Jack.

Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 20 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, a Liturgy will be celebrated at the Church of Saint Martha, Point Pleasant, followed by interment at BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in his memory to either the Special Needs or Veterans Committees of the Point Pleasant Elks Lodge No. 1698, 820 Arnold Ave., Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742 would be appreciated.
