Stop Water Run Off Ordinance

In response to the article that was in the Ocean Star August 2, 2013 about water runoff ordinance (Point Pleasant Boro).

My comments to this article are the town council has over reacted to complaints from some people who do not own a pool. Since super storm Sandy many if not all pool owner have had to clean out their pools, meaning this past spring lot of water has been pumped out to the storm sewers.

In my case I had to pump out 1/3 the content (about 5,000 gallons) and will need to change the pool liner next spring. This will involve pumping out 20,000 gallons of water and then ground water until the new liner is in and water filling it. Quite a few people did that this spring which caused the complaints...

Again we would not be doing all this excess pumping of water if Sandy had not hit us.

The second comment is the condition of our streets they have eroded thus allowing water to puddle in front of people driveway or entering unto their driveway. The water does not flow to the storm drains which in some cases are as far as 8-900 feet away.

Street need to be repaved and graded so the water will flow to the sewers system!

Pool owners please call/write send an e-mail to the town council to cancel the ordinance
