177 Get Summonses In Point Pleasant Beach Seatbelt Campaign

The Point Pleasant Beach Police Department issued 177 summons this year as part of the annual National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s campaign of “Click it or Ticket,” aimed at increasing the use of seatbelts.

This year, the campaign ran from May 9 through June 1 and resulted in 177 summons’s being issued for individuals not wearing their seatbelts.  

he police department applied for, and received a grant which covers the cost of having officer’s participate in this campaign.

Seatbelt use is not a local ordinance violation. Most of the money from the ticket/fine goes to the State.
