UPDATE: Route 35 South In Point Beach Closed Until Midnight

An accident in the southern end of Point Pleasant Beach just after 3 p.m. brought down wires

Route 35 South in Point Pleasant Beach is closed in the area of the Burger King while a utility pole and wires are repaired after a crash that brought them down earlier this afternoon.

The road is closed between New Jersey Avenue and Route 88 until midnight, police said.

The accident, which happened about 3 p.m., reportedly occurred near the Goodyear and Burger King. There are two jughandles in that stretch of Route 35 south that merge into the left lane of the road.
