Beaver Dam Road Bridge Dangerous; Roads Slick

The Beaver Dam Road bridge in Point Borough is slick to the point where at least a few cars have gotten stuck and had to be pushed.

Other local roads in the greater Point-Brick area are slow going at best, icy and slippery at worst.

Area residents would do well to stay home/indoors if at all possible. If drivers are out, it's best to avoid the Beaver Dam bridge.

UPDATE: At about 2 p.m., the Point Pleasant Borough Office of Emergency Managment posted the following on its Facebook page: "WINTER STORM WARNING in effect for Point Pleasant through midnight tonight. Road conditions are very poor. Use extreme caution while driving."

Editor's Note: Denise Di Stephan, Community Editor for Jersey Shore Patch, and a Point Borough resident, with the exception of the post from Emergency Management, wrote this based on her own personal experience driving from Route 70 in Brick back home to the Borough early Sunday afternoon.
