Brick Man Charged in Hit and Run in Point Boro

Man accused of hitting car at Route 88 and Mistletoe

A Brick man is charged with careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident after he allegedly hit a car at Route 88 and Mistletoe Avenue, police said Wednesday.

Joseph A. Goble, 21, allegedly hit a car and fled at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday, said Captain Richard Larsen.

Goble allegedly hit a car driven by a 31-year-old Bayville woman, who police are not identifying, Larsen said. The woman and her three passengers were not injured, but her car had rear-end damage and Goble's car had front end and right fender damage, Larsen said.

The investigation, following some telephone leads, led to Goble and his arrest, Larsen said. He added that there was no indication that Goble was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
