Trucks that were deployed to clean and salt the Beaver Dam Bridge did not get to the span prior to a Jan. 10 crash that killed a 76-year-old Point Pleasant Boro woman.
The Ocean County Road Department had a plan in effect for salting all county roads, and trucks were out beginning at 7 a.m., according to police.
"The trucks that were deployed for this purpose did not get to the bridge prior to the crash," Brick police said in the release.

The police department is requesting that the driver of the blue Hyundai Elantra involved in the initial crash contact the Traffic Safety Unit at 732-262-1140.
Margaret Brady of Point Boro died in the accident that also caused injuries to three other people, according to a prepared statement released by Brick police.

Two of the injured subjects were transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center and the other injured party was transported to Ocean Medical Center.
"The rapidly deteriorating road conditions contributed to this multi-vehicle event," the statement says.
The Beaver Dam Bridge was closed for approximately six hours while the scene was investigated.
The 13 vehicle crash is still under investigation by the Traffic safety Unit. Because of the complexity and dynamics of the crash, it has been broken down into five separate collisions, Brick police said.

Listed below is the sequence of events:
· The initial single-vehicle crash involving the Blue Hyundai Elantra is being listed as a hit and run. The Hyundai Elantra loses control and strikes the Beaver Dam Bridge while traveling southbound. The vehicle did not remain at the scene.
· The events of the Hyundai Elantra set in motion the remaining sequence of events.
· Second crash – Vehicle operated by Ruth Alcantara gets rear-ended by the vehicle operated by Margaret E. Brady. Brady suffers a hand injury. All three occupants subsequently exit the Brady vehicle.
· Third crash (Fatal) – Vehicle operated by Giles slows and attempts to maneuver slowly around the existing crash. It is at this time that a vehicle operated by Comune strikes Brady’s parked vehicle. The Comune vehicle then strikes Pedestrian (Brady) and also makes contact with the Giles’ vehicle. A vehicle operated by Walsh immediately follows striking Brady’s parked vehicle, the Pedestrian (Brady) and Comune’s vehicle. This collision pins Brady beneath Walsh’s vehicle.
· Fourth crash (7 vehicles and 1 Pedestrian) – A vehicle operated by Hobbs strikes both Walsh’s and Comune’s parked and unoccupied vehicles. A vehicle operated by Miller strikes Hobbs’ vehicle, which in turn causes Hobbs’ vehicle to strike the Pedestrian (Comune).
· A vehicle operated by Weise veers to the left and strikes the eastside of the bridge before striking the Pedestrian (Comune).
· A vehicle operated by Barrows strikes the Miller vehicle. As a result of that impact Miller’s vehicle is forced into the Hobbs and Walsh vehicles.
· A vehicle being operated by Baldino veers to left and narrowly avoids the Pedestrian (Comune). Baldino’s vehicle continues on striking Comune’s parked and unoccupied vehicle.
· Fifth Crash – A vehicle operated by Bonafide strikes the Barrows vehicle. That collision forces the Barrow vehicle into the Miller vehicle, which in turn forces it into the Hobbs vehicle.
· A vehicle operated by Carone strikes both the Miller and Barrows vehicles.
