A weekend fire that ravaged a home at 802 Rosewood Avenue was accidental, said Ocean County Fire Marshal Dan Mulligan on Monday morning.
. The residents had evacuated safely.
The cause of the fire was a cigar left unattended in a side room on the first of the two floors, Mulligan said.

Deputy County Fire Marshal Robert Cook investigated the blaze that apparently began shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday.
The fire, smoke and water damage left the home uninhabitable.

Point Pleasant Beach Police Sergeant Matthew Duffy and Officer Scott Nase were the first to arrive on the scene, followed by Point Beach Fire Chief Joseph Michigan and Deputy Fire Chief John Pasola.
Point Beach Ocean Fire Company #1, Point Beach Fire Company #2, the Point Pleasant Borough Fire Department, the Point Pleasant First Aid and Emergency Squad, and the South Wall Fire Department responded to the scene.
