UPDATE: Point Boro Assists in Brick Fire Response

Two people were in injured in a blaze at 835 Constitution Drive, Brick, that broke out around 9:20 a.m. this morning.

Both injuries were for smoke inhalation, according to Brick Township police officials. The owner of the two-story home was transported to the hospital for precautionary measures.

Crews from Laurelton, Brick Township, Herbertsville, Squankum in Howell, Breton Woods, Point Pleasant Fire Department and others throughout the area responded and had the fire largely under control by 10 a.m.

Crews from New Jersey Natural Gas and Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority were also on scene.

The Brick Township Fire Bureau, Investigator Kevin Batzel, in coordination with the Brick Twp Detective Bureau and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the fire.

When fire crews responded, they observed the garage of the home to be engulfed in flames.

Crews were seen administering oxygen to one teenager at the scene.
