UPDATE: Five-Alarm Fire Hits Seaside Heights Boardwalk

A fire that reportedly began at the Kohrs ice cream store on the Seaside Park boardwalk has turned to a three alarm blaze. 

Scanner chatter indicates some firefighters have been treated for smoke inhalation and mutual aid has responded from a number of nearby communities including Brick Township. 

The Star-Ledger is reporting that the fire has spread to two other buildings nearby.

The Route 37 bridges and Route 35 access to the Seaside Heights are have been closed.
