Forked River Man Indicted on Robbery Count

Man was one of two who robbed two others, police say

A Forked River man has been indicted on counts of robbery and weapons possession in connection with a February incident in Lacey.

Vincente G. Peek, 19, was indicted on a count of first-degree robbery, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon by an Ocean County grand jury sitting in Toms River.

Peek allegedly robbed Kurt Maniaci and a juvenile at knifepoint on Feb. 4 when Peek and a Barnegat teen encountered Maniaci and the other teen while walking in the Barnegat Pines section of town.

Peek was released on $150,000 bail, no 10 percent option, on May 19. As a condition of his bail, he is to have no contact with the victims.

If he was joking and the other kid thought so too, why would they press charges? It was obviously serious. And, obviously you're not a lawyer - he can't get life in prison for this even if the judge wants that to be the sentence. There are predetermined sentences for crimes like these.

DUMB STUPID MOVE ON HIS PART. DO NOT DEFEND HIS ACTIONS NO ONE SHOULD BE THAT STUPID TO PULL A KNIFE AND THINK NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL FOR A CRIME OF STUPIDITY.
