Power Back On In Point Pleasant Beach

Outage affected 9,000 customers for two hours

Power was restored to Jersey Central Power & Light customers in Point Pleasant Beach just before 10:30 a.m.

The outage, which lasted approximately two hours, affected customers in Bay Head as well.

The power went back on just in time for visitors to enjoy the half-price ride tickets at Jenkinson's this weekend.

Also, today is the annual Easter Parade at 1 p.m., sponsored by the Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce. Registration is 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in front of Joey Tomatoes.

The outage was caused by a substation problem involving voltage entering the substation, according to JCP&L area manager Stan Prater.
