Hunter Spader, age 24, then of Trenton Avenue, pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery of a Citgo Gas Station/convenience store in Point Pleasant that occurred on March 22, 2012.
The attendant reported that the man had walked into the Citgo, holding a silver handgun, pointing it at them and demanded money, police told Patch at the time. The attendants said they had no money, the man continued making his demands and eventually left with obtaining any money.
When Borough police arrived at the scene, Spader allegedly had fled, but the attendants gave police a description of him and said he had fled in the direction of Gowdy Avenue.
He was located a short time later on Forman Avenue and Route 35 North.Sentencing is scheduled for November 15, according to officials with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
