A house at 802 Rosewood Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach was deemed uninhabitable following a fire that broke out just before 1 a.m. Sunday.
"We were met with extremely hot temperatures upon entering the structure," said Point Beach Fire Chief Joseph A. Michigan.
"Our crews did an outstanding job getting to the fire room and quickly getting water on it. This enabled us to quickly gain control of the fire before it spread throughout the home.

"Unfortunately, the entire home was left uninhabitable due to severe smoke and water damage throughout the home."
No injuries were reported in the two-story residential house fire. Residents had evacuated prior to the arrival of police, according to Michigan.

Firefighters were greeted with heavy fire conditions coming from the interior on the west side of the home. The fire was quickly traveling up the
west side of the home as fire units arrived, said Michigan.
Teams were assigned to the roof to cut holes in it in order to allow the fire to vent out of the home.
The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes after the fire department was called out.
Firefighters stayed on scene for approximately two hours conducting overhaul and wetting down hot spots from the fire.
Point Pleasant Beach Police Sergeant Matthew Duffy and Officer Scott Nase were the first to arrive on the scene followed by Michigan and Deputy Fire Chief John Pasola.
Ocean Fire Company #1, Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company #2, the Point Pleasant Borough Fire Department, Point Pleasant First Aid and Emergency Squad, and South Wall Fire Department responded to the scene.
The Point Beach Fire Department and Ocean County Fire Marshal's office are still investigating the blaze.
