Point Beach Boardwalk Games to be Checked Tuesday
State officials are planning to check boardwalk games in Point Pleasant Beach on Tuesday, officials said.
Attorney General John Hoffman will join investigators on the boardwalk Tuesday morning to ensure the fairness of play and retail stores for compliance with price and refund disclosure requirements, following formal comments.
Store scales also will be checked for up-to-date inspections and weighing accuracy.
A random sampling of toys and arcade prizes will be tested for the presence of lead using a mobile device, state officials said.
The demonstration in Point Beach will launch the state's "Safe Summer 2014" campaign, aimed at promoting a safe, family-friendly environmental in coastal towns this summer.
