Point Beach Man Indicted on Burglary, Theft Charges

Two Point Borough men indicted in separate cases

 

A Point Beach man is accused of breaking into a home and car and stealing various items.

Addison C. Vernon, 21, of Broadway, was indicted last week by an Ocean County grand jury on two counts of burglary and two counts of theft.

Police say Vernon broke into a 1999 Lincoln Town Car owned by Manasquan Taxi on Nov. 14 or 15 in Point Beach and stole a CB radio and wallet containing more than $500.

During the same time period, Vernon broke into an apartment on Broadway and stole cash, a laptop, camera, pants, shoes and a backpack, the indictment states.

Vernon was released on a summons.

Grand juries also indicted:

  • Edward J. Richards, 35, of Point Borough on a driving while suspended charge.

Richards was arrested Jan. 2 in Point Beach and accused of driving a car during his second suspension for drunken driving.

He was released on a summons.

  • Daniel A. McShane, 19, of Point Borough, on a drug charge.

McShane was arrested Feb. 28 in Brick and accused of possessing oxycodone. He was released on a summons.
