Point Boro Suspect Charged In Additional Burglaries

A 56-year-old Seaside Heights man charged in connection with a Point Pleasant Boro burglary of Delicious Bagels has been accused of burglarizing several other businesses, police said.

Alfred J. Oliveri was arrested Friday on Herbertsville Road by Det. Joseph Hynes. Oliveri was then transported to police headquarters, where he was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief to Delicious Bagels on Bridge Avenue on April 10.

He was also charged with the following - all occurring April 10:

-      Burglary, theft, criminal mischief to Klotz’s Kitchen (Bridge Ave.)

-      Four additional counts of criminal attempt burglary and four additional counts of criminal mischief to: Silver Lake Chinese restaurant (Bridge Ave.); Lenny’s Pizza (Bridge Ave.); 2249 Bridge Ave.; and 2257 Bridge Ave.

Oliveri was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $25,000.00 bail.

On Thursday, April 10, at approximately 1 a.m., an unknown man attempted to forcibly gain entry into three businesses on Bridge Avenue in Point Pleasant Boro.  The man ultimately entered Delicious Bagels and removed an undisclosed amount of start-up cash, police said.

A white male suspect was visible on surveillance and was observed to be wearing a blue, grey and red flannel jacket and blue, grey and red knit cap, police said.  The subject appeared to be wearing several layers of clothing, police said.
