Point Boro Man Arrested On Drug Charges After Osborn Avenue Stop

A 21-year-old Point Pleasant Boro man was arrested on drug charges and faces other motor vehicle charges after a recent traffic stop on Osborn Avenue, police said.

Patrick Lewis of Boat Point Drive was charged with possession of marijuana/hashish, and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, police said.

He also was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, and while possessing a controlled dangerous substance. He also faces a reckless driving charge and other violations following the Feb. 26 incident.

This "drug" needs to AT LEAST be decriminalized if not fully legalized. Colorado made well over a million dollars (possibly millions, i dont have the article in front of me at the moment) in TAXES in one month since its been legal. NJ could use some of that money...

the crime here, is that this young man is going to have this charge follow him as a criminal offense for the rest of his life...something that's on the verge of being legalized throughout the country. A focus on more serious crimes and criminals would make better sense at a time when this substance is so clearly being accepted by the mass.
