Do you really think 1 arrest is going to matter in this town? It was common knowledge to everyone in town except the police that drugs were being dealt in Quick Check and the Riverfront Park. We now have the distinction of having the worst her ion problem in all of Ocean county. He police in this town are a bunch of overpaid do-nothings.

So you two are saying that the police in Pt Boro are aware of drug deals going on in Pt Boro and allowing it?

Drugs are everywhere. Don't kid yourself. I believe the reason why the heroin presence is so well known in Point Pleasant is because the police are staying on top of it and making numerous arrests.

@Stephen I'm saying they're too lazy to do some simple police work and find the drug dealers. @old guy - I agree with you, except for the numerous arrests. This is the first one of the year that we're aware of ...

I am really upset. As a mother of two teenage girls this whole thing makes me utterly disgusted. From the guy found dead at my grocery store to the talk of the QUick Check drug deals, you would think I bought a freaking house in Camden or NEwark for god sake. Oh maybe Trenton. WTF?

Don't hide it from your Daughters. Drugs are everywhere. Stay focused on their lives. Talk to them without holding anything back. You would be surprised at what they know already........ and keep them BUSY !

Dapapa, I'm not sure its a question of laziness. What career officer wouldn't like a good bust on his record. Its like money in the bank.
Da Poppa February 12, 2014 at 10:39 AM
@old guy - there is no incentive. They don't get paid by the ticket; they don't get paid "per arrest." They get no bonus - their pay is fully tied to union scale, driven by rank and seniority. Layoffs are rare, and again, governed by the CBA. LIFO ... Last in, first out ... What will get them in trouble is busting someone that is connected, which leads to reactionary police work, rather than pro-active. They don't ask "who, what, where, when and why" they ask, who are you and who do you know.
