Point Boro Woman Charged in Crash with Point Beach Police Car

Woman charged with failure to stop in Point Beach

A 72-year-old Point Borough woman was charged with failure to stop or yield after allegedly crashing into a Point Beach police officer driving his vehicle on Route 35 North, police said on Thursday.

Hylah Grant was driving west on Forman Avenue when she failed to stop at a stop sign and drove into Route 35 North, crashing into a marked police car driven by Corporal Peter Andreyev at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, said Detective Patrick Petruzziello.

Andreyev had been unable to avoid the other car, Petruzziello said.

Both drivers were transported to Meridian's Urgent Care Center on Route 88 West in Point Borough and treated for injuries that were not life threatening, Petruzziello said.

Grant's Honda Accord and the marked police vehicle were towed from the scene.

The accident is being investigated by Sgt. Gerald Quaglia.
