Point Pleasant College Student Remembered as Beautiful Dancer

Former dance teacher shares memories and photos of 19-year-old borough woman who died in train crash

To those who watched Lily Seegobin dance, it seemed like she would be full of life and joy forever.

"She was a beautiful girl to watch on the stage and had such potential to go far with dance," said Amy Hall, who taught Lily for eight years at Rhythms Dance Academy in Point Pleasant Beach.

"She enjoyed dancing with her classmates,  and we all had a lot of fun together in class,"Hall said.

"Lily always seemed like a happy girl with a sweet sense of humor," said Hall. "Watching her grow up was a joy. She loved hip hop but excelled in ballet andpointe."

Hall, who has since closed the dance school, said, "The last time I spoke with Lily was in her last year of dance. That was a hard year for her, being that she was getting involved in looking at colleges and trying to figure out where she wanted to go and what would be best for her."

Lily graduated from Point Pleasant Borough High School last June and was attending Rutgers University's Business School in Newark.

She drove her car onto NJ Transit train tracks in Spring Lake on Saturday night and , authorities have said.

The based on a police investigation and an autopsy by the Monmouth County Medical Examiner's Office, said Marc Lemieux, director of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Bureau.

"Our investigation, some of which I cannot give out to the public, was consistent with the findings of the medical examiner's office," he said. "We will not be making any further comment on this case out of respect for the family."

"I am still shocked by this news," Hall said. "It's very surreal to me, and my heart goes out to her family, especially her mother.

"So many unanswered questions. I only wish somebody had picked up on her troubles when she needed help," she continued. "The world lost someone headed for greatness. It's so sad she couldn't feel that about herself. I wish her soul a life-after full of peace."
