Point Pleasant Man Runs Into Immigration Problems After DWI Arrest In Wall

A 37-year-old Point Pleasant man ran into immigration problems after he was arrested in Wall, police said.

At 3:12 a.m., Martin Lopez-Garcia was arrested for DWI subsequent to a motor stop on Route 138.  During processing of Lopez-Garcia, an inquiry was sent to Immigration & Customs Enforcement  which revealed that he was an alien subject to removal from the United States.

After processing was completed, Lopez-Garcia was turned over to the Ocean County Correctional Institute in Toms River on an I.C.E. detainer.   Patrolman Edward Lister was the arresting officer.
