Unwanted Medications Can Be Dropped Off at Point Boro Court Saturday

Part of the federal "Operation Take Back New Jersey" program

Residents can dispose of unwanted or expired medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Point Pleasant Borough Municipal Court in conjunction with the “Operation Take Back New Jersey” initiative.

"The purpose of this Drug Enforcement Administration(DEA) operation is to provide an anonymous, safe and legal method for residents to dispose of their unwanted or expired medications," police said.

"With the increase in the addiction and abuse of medications, especially the non-medical use of narcotic painkillers, medications have become the target of theft from residences," police said.

So, to remove this target from as many homes as possible, police are urging residents to dispose of their medications at the borough Municipal Court, 2233 Bridge Ave.

"Since this is an anonymous program, residents are encouraged to either remove any identifying labels from their prescription bottles or black the information out with a marker," police said.
