Anyone with information is asked to contact Bay Head police.

Area police are investigating an act of criminal mischief done to the newly-installed Firefighters Memorial at the Bay Head Firehouse.

According to Bay Head police, someone, or multiple people, pushed over two granite monuments containing the names of deceased members, causing visible damage to the stones and substantial damage to the surrounding pavers, including the custom fire company emblem.

The memorial was due to be dedicated this weekend as part of the fire company's 100th Anniversary and repairs are expected to cost several thousand dollars.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bay Head Police Department at (732) 892-0632. All information will be kept confidential.
