Police Looking for One or More Burglars in Point Boro

Police asking residents to call them with information

Point Pleasant Borough police are asking residents to give them any information they may have about one or more burglars who entered a home on Lawrence Avenue and then fled early Friday morning.

At approximately 2 a.m., police responded to a report of a burglary at the home on Lawrence Avenue, just off Arnold Avenue.

"Unknown actor(s) gained entry to the residence through a basement window," a police statement says.  "The homeowner, hearing a noise in the basement, got up to investigate.

"It is believed that the unknown actor(s) fled when the homeowner awoke," the statement says.

Police found no one in the area and believe that one or more intruders may have fled on foot west on Lawrence Avenue towards the Point Pleasant Canal.

Police do not know exactly how many intruders entered the home or their gender. It does not appear anything is missing from the basement or elsewhere in the home, police said.
