Police: Two Kidnappers Assaulted Woman, Flashed Box Cutter

Brick police are looking for two kidnappers who allegedly assaulted a woman and flashed a box cutter at her.

On January 10, 2014 at approximately 10 a.m., police responded to a residence on Georgia Drive after receiving a report on a kidnapping.

The adult victim, a resident of Essex Drive, was walking through the Lake Riviera section of Brick when she was approached by a white work van with tinted windows, occupied by two white men, police said.

The passenger of the van exited the vehicle, approached the victim, and forced the victim into the van. Once inside the van, the victim stated that she was struck several times in the torso with what was described as a “piece of steel,” police said.

The subject then produced a box cutter.

Shortly thereafter, the victim was able to escape the van as it travelled slowly north on Georgia Drive. The victim then ran to a nearby residence, knocked on the door, and asked the resident to contact police, police said.

The victim described the suspect that pulled her into the van as a white male, wearing a blue navy sweatshirt and black pants.

The driver was described as a white male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, and possibly having blonde hair.

The investigation is being conducted by Detective James Burgess of the Brick Township Police Detective Bureau.

Anyone who believes that they may have seen this vehicle or anything related to this incident is asked to contact Detective Burgess at 732-262-1115. They may also contact the Brick Township Police Department directly at 732-262-1100.

Let's hope the police find these 2 idiots. As far as Simon, I didn't see your name on last November's ballot for Mayor or Police Chief, of dog catcher. When is your appointment with the Police Chief and the Mayor so you can explain to them how you plan to solve the crime problems in Brick. I'd be interested what your plan is.

Unfortunately, I think we're going to be hearing more of these type of stories with heroin becoming such an epidemic in Brick and Toms River. These junkies are going to need to get their money some how even if it means robbing, mugging, or breaking into homes. Ocean County needs to come up with a plan to slow down heroin. I just read a post online on how nonresident crime is going up in Ocean and Monmouth county and one of the reasons stated was drug sales. Scary thinking about what is going on all around us!
