The advisory is in effect until 1 a.m. Sat., according to the notice on the Nixle public address system used by the Borough and other law enforcement agencies to alert residents to important weather alerts and other news.
The National Weather Service forecast is predicting that snowfall will accumulate to a level of one to two inches, with three possible.

"Light snow is expected to overspread the area from west to east this afternoon," the notice says."The steadiest snow will fall late this afternoon and this evening before tapering off around midnight from west to east."
Due to how cold it has been the past few days, snow will accumulate immediately, slick travel conditions will develop quickly, roads will be slippery and visibility will be limited, the advisory states. Snow will affect the evening commute. Temperatures will be in the lower 20s.
Drivers are strongly urged to proceed slowly and with great caution, especially on bridges and "other elevated surfaces as they tend to become even more slippery," the advisory states.
