Comedy at Uncle Vinnie's to Help Local Police in Memorial Ride

Comedy club event on Friday night to raise funds for police tour in honor of the fallen

A fundraiser will be held on Friday night at to help local police departments join the Police Unity Tour Chapter II.

The event will feature top comedians and proceeds will help police from and participate in the bicycle tour that is held in honor of fallen police officers.

"Help these law enforcement officers with their bicycle ride to Washington D.C. in order to bring awareness to fallen law enforcement officers and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial during Police Week." says an event flier.

The fundraiser for local PBA Chapters 158  and 106 will be held at Uncle Vinnie's, 518 Arnold Ave, Point Beach (see attached PDF).

The first show will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. The $50 admission price includes a three-course dinner and a show.

Doors open for the second show at 9:45 p.m. Tickets are $30 and there is a $10 food minimum.

Vinnie's is BYOB.

One of the many local participants will be Richard Otto who retired as a sergeant from the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department in December 2011. He has been participating since 2010.

"With the support of Uncle Vinnie's, members of both the Beach and Boro police departments will be conducting a fundraiser to offset our costs," Otto said in an email.

The Unity Tour leaves New Jersey on May 9th and arrives in Washington D.C. on  May 12th. Chapter II also participates in the National Law Enforcement Candlelight Vigil on May 13th.
