A 20-year-old man was arrested in Point Pleasant Boro recently and charged with the theft of 11 firearms from a home, police said.

Steven J. House was charged in the May 3 burglary and theft of a Maple Avenue home, and planned to sell the guns, police said.

House was charged May 8 with theft of moveable property and unlawful possession of a rifle or shotgun, according to Ocean County Jail records.

Is this an example of how the state/nation needs tougher gun laws? Should anyone have 11 guns? Let us know in the poll and the comments.

Sounds like the owner has a nice collection! I think he's going to need a bigger safe. :)

Considering the Patch left out that the guns were stolen from a locked safe, all the guns taken were hunting rifles and shotguns, most of which held 2 rounds or less, and the suspect was living in the house at the time of the theft, It sure seems that Mr. Davis has an agenda to push.

I miss Denise DiStephan's reporting. It was accurate and unbiased, unlike the present editor.
