Power Restored to the Part of Point Boro Affected by Electrical Malfunction

Power is restored to the section of Point Borough affected by an electrical malfunction at the corner of Bridge Avenue and Northstream Parkway.

Amanda Simon, 20, saw a wire drop at Northstream and Bridge as she was walking from one side of Northstream to the other to go to her mother's business, High Tech Pool Supplies, shortly before 2 p.m.

"The wire came falling down and made a loud noise," she said.

She said the store had partial power until Jersey Central Power and Light finished repairs around 3:20 p.m.

Simon and her mother, Maribeth Simon, store owner, were still hot in their store at 3:40 p.m., waiting for their air conditioner to cool the place down after it had been heating up for a couple of hours.

Information was not immediately available from police or Jersey Central Power and Light.
