Police Release Sketch of Suspect Wanted in Point Pleasant Borough Robbery

Police say suspect knocked down woman in Bridge Avenue store and stole money

Point Pleasant Borough Police, who are still searching for a suspect in the robbery of a A Lil' Something at 3126 Bridge Avenue, released a sketch of the suspect Monday morning.

The suspect is wanted in connection with knocking a 37-year-old female employee to the ground and stealing money from the cash register on Sunday afternoon, police said.

No weapon was used, police said.

While police said the amount of stolen cash was "undetermined," an Ocean County bulletin on Sunday said it was about $100.

A man entered the store at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday and punched the employee, who had been standing behind the counter, police said.

Because the impact knocked her to the ground, she did not see which way the suspect fled on foot. The woman suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by Point Pleasant First Aid.

The suspect is described as a white male, clean shaven, early 20’s, 5’8” to 5’10” tall, approximately 170lbs. and  medium build with short, light brown hair, police said.

The suspect was wearing a green, hooded sweatshirt with baggy, brown carpenter pants. 

 Point Pleasant Police requested a K-9 unit from Brick Township Police and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department Criminal Investigations Unit was responding to the scene. 

The store sells baked goods and other items according to its web site, http://lilsomething.com.

No additional details, including the victim's name, were available about the robbery.
