Toms River Man Arrested After Traffic Stop; Had Active Warrant, Suspended License

A 30-year-old Toms River man was arrested after a traffic stop in Lacey during which police discovered an active warrant.

On Dec. 30 at 7:49 p.m., Lacey Officer Dimitri Tsarnas conducted a motor vehicle stop of 30-year-old Joseph Witty Jr. of Toms River who had a suspended driver’s license and an active warrant.

The warrant was from the Beachwood Municipal Court in the amount of $600. Officer Tsarnas conducted the traffic stop on Lacey Road near Lane Place, police said.

Witty Jr. was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released on his own recognizance by the Beachwood Municipal Court Clerk.

In addition, he was issued a traffic summons for driving with a suspended driver’s license.
