Berkeley Police Find Woman Slumped In Her Car Seat, Arrest Her For DWI

Woman was uncooperative during the process and was eventually transferred to Community Medical Center, police said

A 23-year-old Toms River woman was arrested for DWI after she was seen driving erratically in Berkeley, and then found slumped in her seat, police said.

On Nov 23 at 10:40 p.m., Ptl. D.J. Williams and Ptl. Jason Malley responded to 445 Rt.  9, Berkeley Plaza, to a report of an erratic driver. A vehicle description was given by the caller, police said.

Upon arrival, the vehicle was located and a female driver was observed slumped over in the driver’s seat. Further investigation found the female, identified as Jamie Pinder, to be under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Pinder was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters.

Pinder was uncooperative during the process and was eventually transferred to Community Medical Center, police said. Sgt. Phil Smith also assisted.
