Two Arrested At Berkeley Wawa For Having Hypodermic Syringes

Two people were caught at the Route 9 Wawa in Berkeley with hypodermic syringes, police said.

Genevive Kirwan, 22, of Ocean Gate and Timothy Lanno, 24, of Toms River were both arrested and charged with possession CDS paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic syringe without authorization.

Kirwan was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance. 

On Sunday, Ptl. Michael Tanis responded to the Wawa located on Route 9 and Sylvan Lakes Boulevard ito a suspicious persons call.  Upon arrival, Ptl. Tanis came into contact with the two people

Further investigation by Ptl. Tanis revealed each to be in possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia (CDS) as well as being in possession of hypodermic syringes.

Kirwan was also illegally in possession of Suboxone, a prescription medication. Both were then arrested, police said.

The Ocean County Prosecutors Office Special Operations Group also assisted in this arrest.
