Two Point Borough Men Charged with Home Burglaries

Investigation continuing, say police

Two Point Borough men have been charged, in unrelated cases, with burglary and theft in home burglaries, police said on Tuesday.

An 18-year-old Point Borough man was charged with five counts of burglary, theft and criminal mischief in connection with burglaries of five Borough homes, said Captain Richard Larsen.

Michael Alvarez was charged on March 7 in connection with the burglaries of five Borough homes and theft money, jewelry and electronics taken from the homes, Larsen said.

Alvarez was lodged in Ocean County jail on $50,000 bail.

Detective Lt. Adam Picca and Detective Michelle Hill led the investigation.

Russell Schoemer, 22, was linked, through an investigation, to burglaries of three Borough homes and is a suspect in burglaries of two other homes, Larsen said. Money and jewelry had been stolen from the homes.

Schoemer was charged on March 8 with two counts of burglary and three counts of theft and lodged in the county jail on $50,000 bail. Picca and Detective Joseph Hynes led the investigation.

Further charges are pending.

God bless the officers as we need these kind of people in jail where they belong ,great job point pleasent pd keep up the good work ,again God bless all our officers every where trying to keep us safe .
