Police urging public to not call them due to heavy influx of calls
Most of Point Pleasant Beach has no power, but police are urging residents not to call police headquarters.
Police are asking that residents not call the department to find out when power will be restored because police cannot yet answer that question and there is a heavy influx of calls, according to a recorded message sent out to all residents and property owners who have signed up for the Swift 911 Emergency Communication System.
JCP&L has been notified, the alert says.
