Boro, Beach Council Meeting Schedules for This Year

Budget preparation coming up

For those eagerly awaiting the council meetings this year in Point Borough or Point Beach, attached are the schedules.

Now is the time of year for residents to speak up at meetings regarding municpal budgets and taxes since the elected and top appointed officials will soon be working on municipal budgets.

Really? Speak up at meetings. It does not matter what the people have to say in both these towns or any other towns for that matter. They don't hear or care what the residents have to say. Its always what the few who want to do to ruin the towns is what matters.

These two towns are definitely experiencing changes in the attitudes, morals, and values of their respective populations/residents. Point Pleasant and Point Pleasant Beach used to be two small shore communities full of people who had great pride and everyone would be friendly and caring to each other regardless of their political beliefs. Nowadays there are more people moving here that care only about themselves and display a nasty arrogant attitude toward anyone disagreeing with them. On the political side it has become completely absurd the way people show disrespect to each other and it comes from both sides. The childish bickering between governing body members and nasty people who continue to attack governing body members doesn't do anyone any good.

Sam- your concept sounds a little extreme. Wouldn't that kind of be a form of anarchy? Just sayin
Rick Ricky January 11, 2013 at 09:55 pm
You are wrong and full of baloney. The only ones that I have seen being nasty to each other are the ones born and raised here. When was that great pride were everyone would be friendly and caring regardless of their political beliefs? It must have been a very long time ago. Please stop being a phony. Don't go blaming it on new people moving in. Out of the mouth of born and raised residents this crap has been going on for years. Those who moved here are getting sick of the nasty arrogant attitudes from those who think they have more of a say because they are born and raised here. Everyone that pays taxes in a town has the same rights. You are in denial if you think otherwise. Majority of the governor body always has been born and raised residents. Majority of their decision making has landed us where we are today. They are the ones with the arrogant behavior and uninterested attitude towards the residents. I haven't seen to many nasty people attacking the governing body and the few that did were born and raised residents. I have seen more attitude from the governor body. Who the heck does some of these individuals think they are? The residents are the ones who voted them in and they can easily be voted out.

The new people come here and tell us how and what we HAVE TO CHANGE to make them happy. How do you expect us to react? Nasty arrogant attitude? Yeah, if you didn't like this town, why did you come here?
Rick Ricky January 12, 2013 at 01:12 am
Beach_N8iv, How do the people expect "US" to react? We expect everyone to be treated the same and equal. Respect everyone that lives here. Regardless how long you lived here, Full time, Part time, Seasonal...it shouldn't matter. If something is no longer working? Then, "YES" People expect changes and they will give you their suggestion and should. No one is more important than another. Those born and raised here over react and take it the wrong way as "Telling" What to do? How about all of you grow up. Just maybe others have better ideas than some of you. If some of you would open your mind a bit and actually listen to others besides listen to the sounds of your own voices. Just maybe the town would have less problems. If we only had a crystal ball? People that moved here did not realize what was going on. They thought it was an entirely different town. They were fooled and moved here under the wrong impression. Some made a costly mistake and now has to deal with it. Especially since "Sandy" hit the jersey shore communities. Now, all those who were born and raised here can either keep on being in denial on what is really going on? You can all pretend nothing is wrong and keep everything the same or stand up and change what has to be change for the better of all "Community Residents", including "OUR KIDS" and "All businesses" It has to be fair and equal. You can't keep on sticking your head in the sand and saying we are the greatest when we are not. Get the pride back.

Beach_N8iv, This has nothing to do with making people "Happy" Maybe that is why there is so many problems here. What does "Happy" have to do with anything. It is about doing what is right. Stop the Lies, B.S., Fighting on who has more rights than others. This town continues to get more ridiculous everyday.

Ricky- I think you missed my point. I have no idea what you are referring to about people being in denial or having their head in the sand. What are all these problems the town is having that you brought up? My point in my post was simply a change in attitude and respect. Being I lived here my entire life I have seen the change. As I said before people all had respect for each other and it was a friendlier town. Now all I hear is complaining and arguing and it comes from people who have moved here in the past 10 years or so. You know it's funny you mention "OUR KIDS". Some of the things that have gone on with parents acting like complete a**holes through their kids is despicable. Whether it's through a school function(i.e. student gov day), a rec sports program, or something else. There have been so many incidents where parents are sending negative emotions or actually carrying on a feud with another adult through their kids. Pretty sickening .. Unfortunately and sadly it's a parent that ultimately shows their class first hand and usually someone who hasn't lived here long.

Now this is funny. If you don't know all the problems that the town and school has or should I say getting away with than obviously you must be out of the loop. You have to many here not willing to admit that there is such a thing called right or wrong. To many promote wrong over right. This coming from those who should be leading is troubling to me. You have those who just go along and pretend it is not happening. They brush it off as that person is crazy to direct the problems away from themselves. It is the first thing someone does when they are in denial. That's funny because I have found the exact opposite. I find it is the people that live here that show a lack of respect towards each other, both new and born an raised that they have had known and had problems with for years. I wouldn't know about the drama going through kids. That is really immature. It doesn't surprise me though. What I do see is a**hole parents that are from here getting special treatment and provision for their kids that really don't deserve it. This practice will eventually catch up if it hasn't already.

If something is no longer working? What isn't working? Who is the judge of THAT? Yes, those of us who have been here a long time resent being told (by newcomers) what is wrong and what is right. We've been here, many of us for a long time. I would say that if you're unhappy you should get your issues on the ballot and let the registered voters decide. But you BCLs don't want that since you would probably lose and this council tends to ignore the will of the people so why bother? If you REALLY don't like this town (and many of the people who have lived here for generations) you could always find somewhere more to your liking.
rureallysurprise January 13, 2013 at 01:22 am
Beach_N8iv, The only one who is going to judge you in the end is "GOD"!! I would say from what I have seen. Some of the decision making has been clearly wrong. Cheating and Lying is wrong, there is no right in that. I would say "GOD" is going to be sending a lot of people from here straight to "H E double LL!!! He is not going to care if you lived here for generations, who you are? If you are Seasonal, Part-time, Full-time, BCL's or How many years you lived somewhere? There is people dying to get out of this town. Unfortunately people are stuck. Not many buying homes right now. Especially in the jersey shore coast line area. How much money do you have? Maybe you can buy all the BCL's property that was damaged. This way you can pay for all the mess, lies and the farce this town has going on.

I will give you approximately $250,000 reason why in one word. "College" is why all the cheating, lying and down right fraud going on. Not only is every student not getting the same fair chance. It is pretty much happening in all the schools that most are aware of. Politics at its best.
