Longtime Ocean County Republican Chairman George Gilmore was re-elected to his position at the top of the county's powerful Republican organization Tuesday night.

The party, through a social media post, said Gilmore was re-elected chairman and Barbara Lanuto was re-elected vice chair at the party's reorganization meeting, which was held Tuesday.

The party's leadership was elected by county committee members who cast votes. Each electoral district in the county has two Republican and two Democratic committee members, one man and one woman for each party.

Gilmore, whose Toms River-based law firm has been ranked among the state's most powerful, has served as party chair since 1996 and previously served as chairman of the New Jersey Republican Chairman’s Association from 2002 through 2010.

Lanuto is employed as Deputy Ocean County Clerk.

this picture is the best evidence yet that the national joke of NJ being the Soprano State is being addressed internally and will soon be recast as the more believable Sissychick State - DNA is DNA, regardless of whether it comes from the elected daisy chain sandbox or the wiseguyless voters - even Norcross, without an online law degree, knows that - Vicari is in this picture but as usual is just the hand stroking Gilmore from behind

Boy, THIS is a BIG shock, right? The ONLY thing more job-security-wise, than being a Supreme Court Justice, is being the Ocean County GOP Chairman.

so Bill, isn't it refreshing to know in Ocean County that every mother's Saturday night mistake has an opportunity to grow up and be the national poster boy for the wiser lifestyle practice of keeping an aspirin between your knees at all times while hanging out in the Seasides?
