Point Boro Mayor Honors Those who Rebuilt the Bennett Cabin and Local Librarians

Two of the local volunteers who rebuilt the and local librarians, were honored at a recent Point Borough Council meeting.

Richard Morris and Ed Lavan, who led the effort to rebuild the historic cabin at Riverfront Park were given proclamations by Point Borough Mayor William Schroeder at

There was musical entertainment from Point Borough High School students and the Point Pleasant Borough Chamber of Commerce provided free refreshments.

Schroeder also gave a proclamation to Nicole DeMatteo, manager of the Point Pleasant Borough branch of the Ocean County library, in honor of National Library Week, which was April 8-14.

The proclamation credited the hard work and dedication of librarians and the valuable service they provide for students and the community at large.
