The relief station outside Borough Hall in Point Borough will move to the old Tally's showroom, 2138 Bridge Ave., Point Borough, on Monday.
The move is expected to begin around 9 a.m., but it will take a while to move all of the supplies. Volunteers who are willing to help with the move are asked to arrive at Borough Hall by 8:30 a.m. Monday.
The relief station, which will close at 6 p.m. today (Sunday) needs:
- volunteers, especially for the move to Tally's tomorrow morning
- laundry detergent
- batteries in all sizes
- cleaning supplies
- paper products, such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
- baby products, like diapers
- garbage bags
The Borough Facebook page also asks for residents to loan the relief station folding tables with their names and addresses and phone numbers written on them so they can be returned.
The station no longer needs clothes. Brave New World, Route 35 South, Point Beach, which is collecting and distributing supplies today, also is no longer accepting clothing donations.
Editor's Note: If you know of a reputable organization or business in the greater Point Borough-Point Beach-Brick area that is accepting donations of clothing, please advise in the Comments section. Thank you.
If anyone hears where they still need/are taking clothes, please let us know. (NOT Bay Head, Point Beach, or Point Boro! Thank you, but we all really want to see supplies go where they are NEEDED and we cannot use all of the clothes that we currently have. Storage space is too limited and food is too critical.)
