Point Boro Council To Decide $2.5 Million in Bond Spending

Two ordinances before Point Pleasant Borough would create more than $2.6 million in spending for capital improvements and water-sewer upgrades, to be mostly funded by bond notes.

Point Pleasant Borough Council will meet tonight and on the scheduled agenda are the pair of ordinances: $1.5 million in capital improvements and $1.16 million in water and sewer upgrades. Of that, $1.4 million would be issued in bonds for capital improvements, and $1.11 million in bonds for the second ordinance.

The capital improvements include a new construction vehicle, replacement of borough computer terminals, firefighter equipment, refurbishing ambulances, the cost to repave borough streets, replace Dorsett Dock bulkhead, and Public Works garage equipment, among others.

Tonight's meeting is the second reading and public hearing on both ordinances.

The Point Pleasant Borough Council will meet 7 p.m. in municipal hall.
