The committee is counting on the fundraiser to help raise money badly needed to make Project Graduation a reality for this year's high school graduates.

"Contrary to what some believe, Project Graduation is not a school-sponsored event, although the school’s alcohol and drug abuse counselor, Jim Foley, helps organize it," said Noelle Grcic, one of the parents on the planning committee. "Instead, the seniors’ parents are responsible for fundraising to pay for the evening and seeing that the night is a success."

The Borough High School’s Project Graduation has been making that special night in June one of fun and games for high school seniors for more than 20 years, but not without help from the community.

Project Graduation provides a safe and fun environment for the kids to enjoy their last night together as a class.

It prevents the graduates from participating in risky behavior as a way of celebrating the end of high school.

After graduation on June 13, the graduates will change out of their caps and gowns and be transported by bus to The Atlantic Club in Wall Township for a night of games and entertainment lasting from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Students will be allowed to use all of the health club’s facilities, including the pool, gym, basketball, tennis and racquetball courts.

The club will also be the site of many other games that night including a mechanical bull, a Velcro wall, a giant Twister game and more.

At the end of the night, each of the 238 students in attendance will receive a prize for attending, ranging from gift cards to bicycles and iPads.
