A new police officer will join the Point Pleasant Boro Police Department, along other new employees.

Christopher Henrich was sworn in Tuesday night at Tuesday's council meeting.

The council voted to approve another addition to the police department: a full time telecommunications operator.  Council members appointed Sean Malone as the public safety operator, whose job status has changed from part-time to full time.

The council also authorized the hiring of lifeguards for the 2014 summer season, a part-time assistant lacrosse instructor, and two temporary laborers for the Department of Public Works.

In other matters, council members discussed repairs to the borough skate park.  The borough is looking to restore the riding surface for skateboarders and make the necessary screw, surface and ramp replacements in the park.

The total price of the repairs have been estimated at $1,309.

We need another cop? Who's this guy a relative of in town hall?

Great, now we can have another car idling away in town while he takes naps, just what we need!

To many cops are being hired everywhere. They will exaggerate any little problem going on in the areas just so they can hire more cops. Of course there is always a connection some how in who they hire. Everything is blown out of proportion or a mountain out of a mole hill. I call it self promotion.
