Route 35 Reconstruction Project To Be 'Assessed'

New Jersey Department of Transportation officials will visit Seaside Heights with Mayor William Akers and other local officials to assess the construction progress to rebuild a 12.5-mile segment of Route 35 on the Barnegat Peninsula that was severely damaged by Superstorm Sandy.
New Jersey Department of Transportation officials will visit Seaside Heights with Mayor William Akers and other local officials to assess the construction progress to rebuild a 12.5-mile segment of Route 35 on the Barnegat Peninsula that was severely damaged by Superstorm Sandy.
The summer work schedule and Complete Streets proposals for bicycle accommodations also will be detailed at the event. In early-July, Governor Chris Christie announced the initial start of the $265 million construction project to rebuild Route 35. Major construction operations are now well underway.
